- Plumping lips
- Smoothing wrinkles and folds around the mouth
- Filling in shallow parts of the face
Patients will instantly look five years younger with Juvederm®, which gives a natural, softer look.
How Does Juvederm® Work?
Juvederm® is a smooth consistency gel made of hyaluronic acid (HA), a naturally occurring substance in your skin that helps to add volume and hydration. Young skin contains an abundance of naturally-occurring HA. As we age, time, sunlight, and other factors reduce the amount of HA in our skin. The lack of HA causes our skin to lose structure and volume, creating unwanted facial wrinkles and folds, like those “parentheses lines” around your nose and mouth. When Juvederm® is added to those lines, the result is a natural-looking softening of the lines that usually lasts about a year.
Which Juvederm® Injectable Should I Use If I Want to Plump My Lips?
Juvederm® XC is the first and only FDA-approved filler for lip augmentation. The results last up to one year.
Which Juvederm® Injectable Should I Use If I Want to Plump My Cheeks?
Juvederm® Voluma® is the first and only FDA-approved filler for the cheek area that lasts up to two years. To say the least, it’s our favorite dermal filler!
Which Juvederm® Injectable Should I Use For Other Aesthetic Concerns?
Our expert estheticians will determine which filler is best for your needs.
How Long Does Juvederm® Last?
Juvederm® usually lasts about 8 to 12 months, depending on what area of the face is treated.
Does the Juvederm® Treatment Hurt?
Our patients tell us they experience minimal discomfort with fillers. Juvederm® is formulated with lidocaine, a common anesthetic, to provide a more comfortable experience during and after your treatment. In addition, we compound our own topical numbing medication that is applied to the treatment area for five to 10 minutes to make your experience even more comfortable.
What Should I Do to Prepare For My Juvederm® Treatment?
It is important to discontinue the use of aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil supplements, and Vitamin E for four to five days before your appointment. These products thin your blood, increasing the possibility of bruising. If you are on blood-thinning medications, let the staff know before your appointment.
Are There Any Side Effects or Downtime From Using Juvederm®?
The procedure is very safe and minimally invasive. There is always a possibility of some bruising and/or swelling after your injection. Some tenderness in the treated area is normal after Juvederm® Voluma® is injected. It is not unusual to feel slightly “bumpy” on the skin for up to two weeks. This subsides gradually on its own within two weeks.
What Should I Do After My Juvederm® Treatment?
You may return to normal activities immediately after a Juvederm® injection. However, you should not apply heavy pressure to the treatment area for four hours. Ice the injected area for a few hours helps to minimize any bruising.
